The Power Of Scheduling and Productivity

Steve Jobs says you should hone in on 3 things to make your life better. Follow these three daily steps to ensure progress and see advances in your goals and projects.

The first thing is set a daily goal that has a fast approaching deadline. This will ensure you stay focused and on top of doing things for the day. The second thing to do daily is to finish or work on something you have been procrastinating about. This will ensure you are pushing towards progress which ultimately will help you achieve success. The third thing you should do is making sure you do something you love that is for you. Too many of us focus our entire day and lives around are work, or we work hard during the day then spend our free time not focusing on us, rather just relaxing. Instead spend as much time as you want focused on your work, goals, and passion but make sure you set time aside for the day to do something different then the work.

If this is hard to do then just remember a time when you loved to do something like play ping pong. Get up, fine a table, and do something for yourself away from your work. Ping pong was a great example cause I love pingpong and am just remembering I haven't played it in a long time.

Elon Musk schedules his time in 5 minute blocks. Elon Musk is known for his creations and outlandish but completely interesting projects that will better our future and this man schedules his time in 5 minute blocks. This helps ensure that he is consistently accomölishing goals and staying focused on the goals at hand.

This helps him not stress about the outcome of situations or things that do not matter in the moment. If you don't have a job today, and you spend your time thinking about rent at the end of the month, at the end of the month you will still be in the same situation. If every five minutes you set a goal to fill out a job application, I promise you won't be in the same situation you are in, a month from now.

Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, spending time on Sunday preparing for the week. Many people wake up Monday dreading the week ahead and uncertain of the goals and tasks that they will be faced with throughout the next six days. Dorsey spends Sunday preparing for the week. This allows him to wake up Monday morning with a sense of purpose and direction for the week. Waking up feeling motivated and already having your goals in mind will create a better sense of purpose for those Monday mornings. Try it and I promise you will see better results within your work week!

On a personal note I am extremely ADHD and staying focused on one particular goal or task has proven difficult to me time after time. What I find works best for me is setting my goals first thing in the morning then breaking the work up into different intervals throughout the day. For example if I need to write lets say 5 articles in the day, I will not sit there and just write out 5 articles. In fact I won't write one article at a time either. I will start all five, write a few paragraphs, take a 10 or 15 minute break, then go back to writing more paragraphs on each subject. I am not sure if I recommend this to people or not because I have never really seen it done or expressed as a positive way to accomplish goals but personally for me it works and it works great. Very rarely can I sit down and write a full blog, or a full song, or finish a full movie. Everything I have to do is breaking down into smaller goals intermixed with lots of small breaks and random things to do in between those tasks.

I know trying to organize our life is not easy and I am constantly updating and changing the way I organize and handle my business. As I experience growth and add more to my plate, the way I manage, schedule, and organize, will adapt to the different environments I face on an everyday basis.
